Below is a list of some upcoming events at COD:
Thur. Mar.22 and Fri. Mar. 23 (7pm) and Sat. Mar. 24 (2pm and 7pm): ODCA Middle School Play, The Music Man
Master showman Harold Hill is in town and he’s got “seventy-six trombones” in tow. The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.
Mark your calendars now, so you don’t miss the fun as our children present this timeless musical.
DRAMA TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE or AT THE DOOR, IF SEATING IS AVAILABLE. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Tickets are $6 for Thurs. and the Sat. matinee, all other tickets are $7. The play will go on Thurs 3/22 even though school is closed.
Sun. Mar. 25, 12:30: Youth and Faith That Works Special Project
Did you ever want to get involved with an outreach ministry or project? Maybe you’ve wondered how you can get involved or what it would be like to get involved. This ministry is actually for everyone.
You’ve recently heard about this exciting outreach project coming up, when the youth will be joining Faith That Works, in making plastic bag mats for the homeless. There are many steps in making these mats and we can use your help. Maybe you are thinking at this moment, “How can I help”? Bags need to be cut into strips, tied together, rolled into balls, and lastly they need to be assembled into mats. Would you please consider helping us? We are meeting on Sunday, March 25th after church, in the Blue Room.
Fri. Mar 30: Good Friday Service at COD @ 7pm. The service will include an emphasis on the Passover Seder Meal as well as communion.
Sat. Mar. 31: Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt, families with children ages 2 through 5th grade.
Families with children age 2 through 5th grade are invited for a delicious Pancake Breakfast followed by an Easter Egg Hunt! Invite your family and friends—this fun event is open to all!
Easter eggs represent Jesus’ resurrection; an empty egg resembles an empty tomb! Pastor Duane Adler, will also be sharing a short Easter message for the children to hear. There is no cost for this event. Invite friends and neighbors to this special event. We are requesting plastic eggs and candy/filler donations; however, please avoid supplying anything homemade or containing nuts. There is a table in the Narthex to place your items in.
