1 John 3:11-24
Unfortunately, the term “love” carries a lot of baggage within our present culture, especially when it is connected with tolerance. Importantly, the most loving action a person can do for another is to extend the limitless love of Christ to those in need. This goes way beyond tolerance and political correctness. Yet the world calls that intolerant and would rather force us into silence. Should we comply? Never! True love is only possible to those who have received the “love of God poured out into their hearts through the Holy Spirit.”
Truly, there is only one way to define love and it is not the way of our culture. John, rather, defines it according to God’s revelation and then equates genuine love with genuine belief in order to extend assurance for the believer. Follow along as John introduces the main theme of loving one another and then lays out the details surrounding this theme.
