    In light of the promise of Christ’s return for his church, which is prior to the coming judgment on the day of the Lord, it became necessary for Paul to shepherd these believers through their confusion and fear over its timing. Paul, with his four progressive insights, reassures and exhorts believers to not fear concerning the day of the Lord but to live transformed by Christ and be encouraged and built up in preparation for Jesus to return. Now that is the conduct expected for those in the Body of Christ.

    Christ’s Guarantee for the Continuation of the Body of Christ by Dr. Glenn Jago

    Anyone who looks closely at the current conditions of the visible churches, may come away with an alarming fear – the invisible Church is failing and is, therefore, losing its influence in the world. However, when it comes to the power of the Church, it will never lose its influence or power because the success of the Church is dependent on Jesus Christ. He alone is the originator of the Church and even when some visible churches may close, the Church will never be destroyed. But, on what basis can we be so sure? Thankfully, Paul provides a three-fold answer that is set within the context of instructions for the Church. These statements declare that the power of Christ is the sufficient means for the continuation of his Body. Indeed, the visible churches aligned with his plan will experience continuation into the future.
