In their thinking, the Children of Israel believed they should be like all the other nations, so they demanded a king. In his thinking, Elijah believed he was the only true prophet alive, so, out of fear of Jezebel, he went into hiding. King Solomon believed he would find happiness in one more wife or concubine, so he clung to 700 wives and 300 concubines. Saul of Tarsus believed he was serving God implicitly, so he killed all who were believing and following Jesus Christ. What do all of these illustrations demonstrate? The power of thinking, leads to believing, which determines living; this can produce disastrous results.
