Senior and Junior High Overview
The Youth ministry exists for 6-12th grade students who are believers or unbelievers. Our goal is to reach students where they live and connect them into a community where Christ’s love will be shared. Church of the Open Door exists to glorify God in every avenue of life. Our desire for our youth is to develop a stronger, more mature relationship with their God through exciting interaction in God’s Word. We want the youth to connect with God and others through weekly and monthly gatherings and many discipleship programs that the youth ministry offers.
“The Ministry Environments”
There are three kinds of environments for students in our ministry. Each one is designed to strategically invite students on a journey into deeper relationships with Jesus, their peers, and leaders. Each one is designed with every student in mind – the student who’s grown up in church and the first-time visitor, too.
WEEKLY PROGRAMS (see YBF and Sunday Night – Revive below): Our weekly programs are designed to help students connect with God and others, as well as learn to better live out their faith.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Every month we host at least one special event designed to help students connect with their peers and leaders. These events are outreach opportunities, as well as fellowship activities. Special events are often the place where students will walk into our ministry for the first time.
SERVICE/MISSION TRIPS: Each year we take our students on at least one service/mission/leadership trip. These trips are designed to help students gain an understanding of what ministry is…serving and glorifying our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Youth Bible Fellowship (YBF):
The youth meet in the youth room from 9:30-10:30 am. They start with a hot topic discussion before they jump into the Bible where they will experience practical application for their growth in Christ.
Sunday Night — REVIVE:
This is our weekly youth group gathering for 6th-12th grade. The time is from 6-8:00 pm, although everyone is invited to come a few minutes early and leave a few minutes late to hang-out with friends. Each week includes a variety of games, a time of worship, and a challenge from God’s Word.

We encourage the teens to serve the Lord with their life where they can minister. Some areas of ministry include Awana on Wednesday nights and Kids Connection of Sunday morning.
The L.O.R (Leaders Of Revive) ministry provides a monthly opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills for life. L.O.R. is open for all 11th-12th grade students who want to be better leaders for tomorrow. There are monthly readings, prayer, and creative opportunities to serve in Revive.
