The Gospel’s Power: Satan’s Attack against the Messenger (Part 2)

Galatians 2:1-14

If Satan can discredit the messenger of the Gospel, then he, in essence, believes he can hinder the power of that Gospel. We then, as messengers, need to understand that Satan will not stop his attack until he can discredit us, even if he has to fabricate a lie. Relevant to Paul’s own experience and testimony, we must know that even when Satan’s main objective is to discredit our testimony and defeat the work of God, we can stand strong against his attacks; but only when we stand in the power of the Gospel.

Paul makes this point abundantly clear as he continues to share his defense and his stand against all challenges to the power of the Gospel.

Two challenges:

  1. The challenge against distortion – Galatians 2:1-10
    1. Life’s circumstances demands strong resistance – 2:1-5
    2. Life’s choices seeks strong resolution – 2:6-10
  2. The challenge against hypocrisy – Galatians 2:11-14
    1. The authority of the Gospel supersedes all authority – 2:11-13
    2. The action against the Gospel splinters the truth – 2:14
