Political candidates attacking, media sources discriminating, government officials lying, terrorist activities spreading, Supreme Court redefining, main-line churches dying,
and secret Christians fearing, are all reflections of a nation that has turned their back on God’s authority. Unfortunately, many believers are so absorbed in this life that God’s authority has become irrelevant.
The narrative of Lot in Sodom teaches us the importance of making choices that takes God’s word seriously, while living with strong convictions against sin. Believers, this is not a time to negotiate with the world, but is a great season to live, “according to the purposes of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.” Our culture does not need our acceptance or abhorrence, but our advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s call is for holy living, without being separated from loving as Christ loves.
