Church of the Open Door’s Student Ministry exists for 6-12th grade students. Our goal is to reach students where they live and connect them to a community where the love of Jesus is shared. Our desire for the youth is to develop strong, mature relationships with Christ. We want our students to connect with God and others through weekly and monthly gatherings as well as discipleship opportunities.
There are three types of ministry environments for students, each one designed to strategically invite students on a journey into deeper relationships with Jesus, their peers, and their leaders. Each environment is designed with every student in mind—the student who’s grown up in church and the first-time visitor, too.
WEEKLY PROGRAMS: (see Connection Group and REVIVE below): Our weekly programs are designed to help students connect with God and others, in addition to growing in their faith and relationship with Christ.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Every month we host at least one special event designed to help students connect with their peers and leaders. These events are outreach opportunities as well as fun fellowship activities. Special events are often the place where students will walk into our ministry for the first time.
SERVICE/MISSION TRIPS: Each year we take our students on at least one service/mission/leadership trip. These trips are designed to help students gain an understanding of what ministry is: serving and glorifying Jesus.
On Sunday mornings, we meet in the youth room from 9:30-10:30 am. This is a time of digging deep into Scripture where practical application is given.
REVIVE is our weekly Sunday night youth group gathering from 6-8 pm. Each week includes a variety of games, a time of worship, and an in-depth study from God’s Word.

We encourage students to serve Jesus with their lives wherever they are able. Some areas of ministry include AWANA on Wednesday nights and Kidz Connection on Sunday mornings, in addition to various seasonal events.
